There's always plenty of interesting articles to read in Hertfordshire Countryside.
We have a regular band of loyal writers who submit well-researched work on a whole
range of stimulating subjects. All our contributors have a great passion for their own
particular projects and many have precious knowledge that you would never find
anywhere else - except within the glossy pages of Hertfordshire Countryside.
Such is the value of the content of the magazine, many copies enjoy a considerably
long coffee table life and some regular readers even save every issue to keep in
Easibinders for easy reference in the future.
Take a look at our Issue Number on Page 5 every month to see how many magazines
we have published since we began publishing in 1946!
Hertfordshire Countryside is a great opportunity for budding writers to get their work
published at a regional level for the first time. We are always happy to accept articles
for consideration. Subject matter can include People, History, Wildlife, Architecture,
Folklore, Curiousities, Activities, Leisure, Arts & Crafts, Towns and Villages and the
common link in most cases would be Our County. Ideally manuscripts should be 1000-
1250 words on Word documents, supplied on email to: martin_hertscountryside.co.uk with
suitable illustrations if possible.
Payment for accepted work is made on publication and over the years, recognition of
articles that have appeared in Hertfordshire Countryside have led to wider audiences:
some of our contributors have subsequently had their own books published.
